Is Cycling a Creature Spell?

Asked by BlueGoblin123 7 years ago

I'm building a cycling deck Cycling to Victory and I'm unsure whether to include Kefnet's Monument and Bontu's Monument. Does cycling count as a creature spell?

Nope. It's an activated ability.

What they said - and also:

Something can't be a "spell" unless you're casting it. Being that you're never actually casting the spell and simply using it's activated ability, that is another way to view it. It will hit the stack, but not as a spell, meaning typical Counterspell cards can't hit it, unless it is something like Disallow.

This already moved for you, but also be sure in the future that any rules or interaction questions you have are posted in the Rules Q&A forum, located second to last at the menu bar on top.
