Is Aurelia's Fury the Boros (or Red/White) Counterspell?

card:Aurelia's Fury

So, this card says that "players dealt damage [by it] can't cast noncreature spells this turn".

My question is:

If an opponent were to cast Bonfire of the Damned or Dissipate or any noncreature spell, would I be able to cast card:Aurelia's Fury in response, dealing at least one damage to the player, which, if it resolves, would mean the spell under it on the stack would be rendered useless?

If so, this card will have me all sorts of excited!

The spell they have already cast, and is still on the stack, would be fine, as it says they cannot cast non creature spells, not that noncreature spells cannot be cast or resolve.

I'm afraid it doesn't work that way.

You sort of answer your own question, actually: "If an opponent were to cast..." Once a spell has been cast, it's...well, been cast, meaning that the restriction Fury then puts on them that they can't cast spells has no effect. They're not casting any spells at that point, they've already done the deed.

For that matter, if you cast card:Aurelia's Fury targeting them, and they have some instants in-hand, they can cast them in response to Fury and have them resolve before it as well. Fury is best used as a preventative measure during their upkeep, when they can only cast instants, and will mainly stop them from casting sorceries.

The same applies to Silence and other effects.

Ah, I see. Well, that's a bummer! But thanks for clearing it up!
