Interaction with Exalted and Myriad effects
Asked by TJMadMan 8 years ago
So we all know how exalted works. Whenever a creature I control attacks alone, it gains +1/+1 for each instance of exalted on my field.
There are also cards, such as Launch the Fleet
Or mechanics such as Myriad: Herald of the Host
My question is this: since I have control over stack order, and in theory am an intelligent player. Am I not able to trigger exalted on my 'single attacker', while on the stack is an ability that is about to create more attackers?
Just an interaction that I have encountered and was looking for others' input about the rulings. Thanks in advanced!

Note that I mean a Blade of Selves is on the Noble for the purposes of the question. She obviously doesn't have Myriad normally. Any creature with a launch the fleets or Myriad effect works for exalted.

The important part, which TheFoilAjani was aiming at, is that only one creature is declared as an attacker. Doesn't matter how many others come in to play attacking, as long as you only declare the one.

When you create a token or put a creature onto the battlefield attacking, exalted still triggers for the single attacker. Here's why:
You go into the declare attackers step.
Declare Noble Hierarch as you attacker.
Exalted and, let's say Myriad trigger.
4a. Myriad resolves before exalted and you have attacking 0/1s.
5a. Exalted doesn't care that those Nobles are there, just that the original attacked alone during the declare attackers step and the OG Noble gets a buff from exalted.
4b. Exalted resolves first. Noble gets buff from Exalted.
5b. Myriad resolves, and you get 0/1s attacking. They don't care about the Exalted trigger earlier, and Exalted doesn't care either.
I hope this helps you!
