Infinite lightning greaves?
Asked by Grimgrinner 11 years ago
So since it's equip is 0, can I theoretically use it to switch between two creatures infinite times?
Example, I have any random creature, and one that says something like "whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability X happens" and do that thing infinite times?
Aslo related, could I theoretically use it to give Birds of Paradise haste, then use it's mana fixing to cast a creature, then immediately give that other creature haste?

As long as you can pay the activation cost, you may activate an ability as many times as you wish. So yes, you may give Lightning Greaves to whomever you want as many times as you want.

Basically what had me confused was the way equipment works. I was wondering if once it's "attached" if it was "stuck". So you're allowed to move it on and off as long as you're able to pay the cost? (which in this case is 0)

On, and then Onto Something else.
You can't actually -remove- equipment.

also, equipping doesnt count as casting a spell/ability

swkelly89, yes it does
502.33a Equip is an activated ability of artifact Equipment cards. Equip [cost] means [Cost]: Attach this Equipment to target creature you control. Play this ability only any time you could play a sorcery.
Activating an equip ability of an equipment card counts as an activated ability, uses the stack, may be responded to, etc.

swkelly89 maybe it was a rule change or something, i've only been playing for about a year or so. The rules can be confusing sometimes too since things are usually mentioned more than once. But if you and your opponent are having fun, there's no need to get anal about the rules anyway. They're more like guidelines when it's just you and a buddy playing.

the combo that insipired me to ask the question by the way, was Scourge of Skola Vale + Daru Spiritualist . Interesting to note that you could also do Phenax, God of Deception to instantly mill out an opponent.
