Infect and Curiosity

Asked by InnerFlame 11 years ago

Does hitting a player with infect, for instance with Blighted Agent , do a form of damage that would trigger Curiosity if attached to it?

Yes. It deals damage in the form of poison counters to players, but it is still dealing damage.

Yes it would. The Blighted Agent is damaging the player; it just results in the player getting a poison token instead of losing life.

Curiosity doesn't specify that the creature has to do a specific form of damage, only that it deals damage. You could put some form of direct damage enchantment or equipment on the blighted agent, which would still result in a poison counter and you would still draw the card.

Follow-up question: What if I had Curiosity on Guttersnipe in a 4-player free-for-all game, and then started casting other instants and sorceries? Would I draw 3 cards for each spell cast?

Yes. Curiosity's trigger condition of "An opponent is damaged by the enchanted creature" is going to be met three times in a 4-player FFA game.

Note that you'll draw 1, then draw 1, then draw 1, rather than draw 3, as some effects care about that distinction.

If you have 3 opponents then Guttersnipe will "deal damage to an opponent" 3 times as his ability resolves.
