Increasing Vengeance
Asked by -Orvos- 11 years ago
If I cast Increasing Vengeance from my GY to copy say Shock can I just Dual Casting to copy Increasing Vegeance before the first one resolves to actually copy Shock .
If I can target it and copy it, will I get the two spells because the original was cast from the GY and if that is true can I then create an infinite amount of spell copies until the very end I just have them all target Shock and erase my opponent(s) from existence?
the question isnt cast vs copy its, can these cards make a combo to make infinite copies of Shock

I believe this doesn't work. While you can copy Increasing Vengeance, the copy will not have been cast from a graveyard, so you will only get 1 copy of a spell from the copied Increasing Vengeance. The only thing you will be able to make is infinite copies of Increasing Vengeance.

As raithe000 said, it does not work. When a card says it's name in the rules text, it means this card. Since the Dual Casting ed copy of Increasing Vengeance was not cast from a graveyard (or cast at all for that matter), it does not get to double copy.

As i know:
You cast "Increasing Vengeance" for its Flashback costs. It's a replacement effect which works only if u cast it from your graveyard.
"Dual Casting" copies "Increasing Vengeance", but the copy doesnt has the replacement effect, because u didn't cast the copy. So the copy will have "Copy target instant or sorcery spell you control."With that you can't make an infinite combo with that.

@Asril: Increasing Vengeance 's self replacement effect works whenever you cast it from a graveyard, not just with flashback. Also, it doesn't actually change the words on the spell, just which ones do something.

This is easy to answer:
Cast. vs Copy.
If you cast it from somewhere... vs. a copy of it being put on the stack.
