If a creature deals combat damage to a player while equipped with multiple Sword of Body and Mind, would each sword trigger?

Asked by Antiat 14 years ago

Now, with the Sword of Body and Mind in right now, let's say I equipped a creature with two. If/when it deals combat damaage to a player, do they mill twenty instead of the ten, or do they only mill the ten?

The source of the triggered effect is the Sword not the creature. When you hit an opponent with a creature dual-wielding 2 Swords of Body and Mind each Sword will trigger and you'll put both abilities on the stack to mill for a total of 20.

Yes, they will mill twenty. Multiple instances of permanents will trigger that many times.

For example, if you equip your creature with Infiltration Lens and it was blocked, you may draw 4 cards instead of 2.

They'll end up milling twenty, and you get two wolves.

Each sword puts its own trigger on the stack. So when you hit the other player in the face, SoB&M #1 puts its "you get a wolf and they mill 10" trigger on the stack, then SoB&M #2 puts its identical trigger on the stack.

They both resolve separately, so first you'll put a 2/2 wolf token on the field and they'll mill 10, then you get a second wolf and they mill another 10.

Note that there is a round of priority passed in between the two, so both players can toss an instant spell on the stack in the middle if they want.

Now give those swords to a Kor Duelist and laugh evilly as they mill 40 cards.
