How does the Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Triskelion combo work?
Asked by thataddkid 11 years ago
Multiple people have told me that this is an infinite combo. But wouldn't Triskelion still be a 2/2 after all counters are removed from him? With a sac outlet I can see it, but I don't see anything right now.

Triskelion would enter the battlefield as a 5/5- his normal power and toughness, the 3 +1/+1 counters, and the +1/+1 boost from Mikaeus, the Unhallowed . Then you could remove the 3 counters for 3 damage, then sacrifice it with a sac outlet like Viscera Seer . Triskelion would then come back into play because he now has undying thanks to Mikaeus, and get 4 +1/+1 counters. You can then ping for 4, removing the counters, sac it to Viscera Seer , and then it would re-enter the battlefield again, because it has Undying and it no longer has any more +1/+1 counters on it. From there, you can repeat for infinite damage, deaths, and enter the battlefields.

Yes, Triskelion is 2/2 after all his counters are removed, but the key element of the combo is using 2 of those counters to deal damage to himself. That means he'll die after the last counter is removed, and the Undying granted by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed will bring him back to the battlefield.

-_-Triskelion is a 1/1 even after the Mikeaus triggers.Triskelion doesn't state that the counters removed must be placed on it from it's own ability, so you can remove the Mike counter to activate it's damage again.Play Mike and Trike->Deal 2 damage to target->Deal 1 damage to Trike->Trike hits yard and comes back with 4 counters->Deal 3 damage to target->Deal 1 damage to Trike->Repeat for infinite damage

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed gives all your non-Human creatures +1/+1, and Triskelion isn't a Human. This question was settled 7 months ago.

No he doesn't, he gives them all undying. Which causes them to enter with a +1/+1 counter. The answer above is not correct.

Have you read Mikaeus lately?
Intimidate
Whenever a Human deals damage to you, destroy it.
Other non-Human creatures you control get +1/+1 and have undying. (When a creature with undying dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a +1/+1 counter on it.)

Getting +1/+1 isnt the same as getting a +1/+1 counter.

I'm not sure if that was ever part of the original question, which was already settled a long time ago.

just wondering but could this combo be stopped if trisk became a human?

Yes. If it's a Human then it's not a "non-Human", so it won't get undying from Mikaeus' ability.

Remove counter to ping an enemy. Remove 2 to ping itself. It dies and comes back with an extra counter. remove 2 to ping an enemy, remove 2 to ping itself. Rinse repeat.
