How does buyback work with Gonti, Lord of Luxury?
Asked by ptownazkikr 6 years ago
If I use Gonti, Lord of Luxury’s ability to steal a Mystic Speculation and I cast it with buyback, to whose hand does Mystic Speculation go to after it resolves?
Additionally, there's a rule to ensure even if buyback did follow the reminder text your opponent would still get it back:
400.3. If an object would go to any library, graveyard, or hand other than its owner's, it goes to its owner's corresponding zone.

Thanks Neotrup. I knew that rule existed somewhere, but I didn't have the time to find it and put it into my original post at the time. :)

Rule 702.26a Show
The reminder text on Mystic Speculation is poorly written. Buyback returns the card to its owner's hand.
