Hideaway + Blink = Playable?

Asked by Schmidty 11 years ago

So if I cast Mosswort Bridge in my Roon EDH deck, and exile a card with it....then play a Selesnya Sanctuary and return the Bridge to my hand, replaying it next turn...am I able to use the Hideaway effect to pay for both those cards (separate turns) or is the first card exiled with Hideaway lost forever?

Please link all cards in your question. There's a formatting guide at the bottom of the page.
Mosswort Bridge
Roon of the Hidden Realm
Selesnya Sanctuary

First, you don't cast Mosswort Bridge . It's a land. Lands aren't spells.

When an object changes zones, it becomes a new object with no memory of its previous iterations. The linked abilities from the first instance of Mosswort Bridge will not carry over into the second instance. The first exiled card will remain exiled; you'll still be able to play the second exiled card.

The cards are attached to specific instances of the land. If you bounce it and replay it, as far as the game is concerned, it's a new object, and is no longer attached to the originally exiled card. (To make this make more sense: how does your opponent know it's the same land? You could have two).

Okay, thank you all very much, and I apologize for failing to link. Thank you for picking up that slack Epochalyptik.
