Hex Parasite question

Asked by toechill 10 years ago

So would Animar, Soul of Elements have protection from Hex Parasite's ability since you have to pay black for it and target Animar?

This is more of a rules question. The Q and A is usually where those go

As for the answer. I believe Hex is still considered colorless in the game. The identity thing applying only when adding him to decks?

Epochalyptik would know better than me

VampireArmy my bad! sorry about putting it in the wrong section, it was fueled by a commander game interaction so I didn't think twice!

VampireArmy is correct. The abilities cost only changes the color identity when you build the deck. In the game Hex Parasite is colorless and all abilities it has are also colorless.

Actually he would have protection because Hex Parasite is black the same way that Bosh, Iron Golem is red and Yasova Dragonclaw is rug

@fadelightningmm As I said in my answer color identity only matters when making and EDH/Tiny Leaders deck. It doesn't actually change anything when you are actually playing the game.

Hex parasite is colorless its activation cost has nothing to do with its color (just its color identy)

Last I checked, moving it to/from the Q/A from the forums is impossible... I'd suggest moving to general or something if you can't move it to the Q&A...
