Havoc Festival and Tree and Redemption
From Gather:If an effect says to set a player's life total to a certain number and that number is higher than the player's current life total, that part of the effect won't do anything. (If the number is lower than the player's current life total, the effect will work as normal.)
So, how is life swapping gaining life? Does this enchantment block tree's effect if it would cause your life to go up? That seems silly....if that's the case and using the tree's ability counts as "gaining life" then would it trigger Archangel of Thune s ability?

Whenever an effect sets a player's life total to a certain number, that player actually gains or loses the necessary amount of life.
118.5. If an effect sets a player's life total to a specific number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up with the new total.
Havoc Festival prevents players from gaining life, so an effect that would set a player's life total to a higher number than that player's current life total instead doesn't. The other parts of that effect resolve normally.
Also, an effect that would set your life total to a higher number than your current life total does count as an event of lifegain, so it will trigger Archangel of Thune 's ability.

So how would Rhox Faithmender play with Tree of Redemption then?
If my hp was at 4 and I had a nice 0/13 Tree of Redemption
in play with a Rhox Faithmender
, and I activate the tree, which causes my hp to go up to 13 (life gain of 9) would this then be replaced by the Rhox and I'd actually gain 18 life and sit at 22 hp? Leaving the tree as a 0/4?
Also, if I went to do the same ability and my opponent cast Skullcrack targeting me in response. Would that then take me to 1 hp and then my tree's ability would resolve and the tree would be left as a 0/1 but I wouldn't be able to "gain life"?
