Godsend in EDH

So let me make sure I got this right...
If I have Godsend equipped to Bruna, Light of Alabaster and I block or become blocked by your I may choose to exile that creature (presuming it will return to the command zone) THEN you NEVER get to cast your commander again until you break Godsend ?

No. The creature is only considered exiled by Godsend only if the card actually ends up in the exile zone. Since the card went instead to the command zone, it's never considered exiled.

No. According to the rules of EDH, a commander's controller may choose to have that card go to the command zone instead of being exiled or put in the graveyard. This is a replacement effect, and thus the card will never actually become exiled. So, assuming they choose to do this instead of having the commander exiled, Godsend will not affect the commander.

No. The commander rules allow your opponent to replace the event [exile] with the event [return to the command zone], meaning his or her commander was never actually exiled. Godsend 's last ability will not affect the commander in that instance because the commander was not exiled.
Note, however, that if someone else is running the same creature as a regular card in their 99, you can exile that one and catch the other opponent's commander with the blanket effect.

Epochalyptik makes a fantastic point in the note section but given the circumstances I don't think its worth putting in the deck then... Maybe. Damn I thought WotC just printed something amazingly stupid for EDH.

Godsend is still playable in EDH; it's just that the last ability doesn't really matter most of the time because of the nature of the format. +3/+3 and exile-on-block is still nothing to snub your nose at (unless you're up against tokens).

I just can't think of a single reason to keep it in the deck other than the exile effect really but she'll be unblockable most the time though she will have Vigilance so sure, its viable
