Galea and Rashmi trigger interaction ?

Asked by Meijin 2 years ago

I have Rashmi, Eternities Crafter and Galea, Kindler of Hope on the battlefield.

I cast my first spell on my turn and trigger Rashmi, Eternities Crafter . The top card of my library is an Equipment and I can cast it without paying the mana cost from the Rashmi, Eternities Crafter trigger.

Does the Equipment gains the ability from Galea, Kindler of Hope as it's been cast from the top of my library ?

It does not. Galea, Kindler of Hope's ability says whenever you cast an Equipment spell "this way," which usually means cast via the ability the reflexive trigger is linked to. See rule 607:

607.2g If an object has both a static ability and one or more triggered abilities printed on it in the same paragraph, each of those triggered abilities is linked to the static ability. Each triggered ability refers only to actions taken as a result of the static ability. See Rule 603.11.

Galea will only give the extra effect to Equipment spells cast via her static ability. If something else like Rashmi, Eternities Crafter lets you cast the card, it won't count, even if it's cast from the same place Galea lets you cast it from.

For comparison, see Melek, Izzet Paragon.
