Etherium Sculptor and X cost artifact spells
Asked by UniqueUserID 10 years ago
Mind be a silly question, but when Etherium Sculptor is on the field how does it handle X cost spells. Such as Astral Cornucopia and Chimeric Mass?
Is the X value still treated as generic mana and has it's total cost reduced by one? So he can pay one towards the X cost?
Part of casting a spell is announcing the value of any variables in it's casting cost. Later in the casting process, any cost reduction is included. End result is that, if you have 1 Etherium Sculptor on the battlefield, and cast Astral Cornucopia with =3, it will cost

Yes. You choose the value for X as one of the first decisions during the casting process. You then calculate the cost for the spell and subtract
per Etherium Sculptor's ability.
