Elesh Norn and creatures with ETB triggers.

Here's a scenario I've thought of and I want to make sure this works the way I think it does. Let's say my opponent has Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite on the field, making all of my creatures be -2/-2's. Then during my turn I cast Banisher Priest . When Banisher Priest hits the battlefield two things occur. First, Banisher Priest 's trigger occurs and I would target Elesh Norn. Second, Elesh Norn's ability makes Banisher Priest a 0/0 and would cause it to go to the graveyard as a state based action. However, since I targeted Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite with Banisher Priest 's ability, would Banisher Priest still stay on the field, thus exiling Elesh Norn, or be sent to the graveyard with a net loss for me?

First, Banisher Priest would be put into the graveyard. Then, Banisher Priest's triggered ability would be put onto the stack. SBAs are always handled before triggered abilities are stacked.
Because Banisher Priest's ability is triggered, it needs to use the stack. Banisher Priest would be dead long before its ability resolved.
Also relevant:
7/1/2013: If Banisher Priest leaves the battlefield before its enters-the-battlefield ability resolves, the target creature won’t be exiled.

Elesh Norn's ability is static, meaning it ends the moment she leaves the field. The moment the priest enters, Elesh leaves, meaning elesh does nothing to it and it stays gone.

Epochalyptik - That answers my question. I know that if Banisher Priest
leaves the battlefield the exiled creature comes back, and it makes sense that Banisher Priest
's ability wouldn't resolve if it leaves before the trigger occurs.

@JWiley129: Banisher Priest 's ability still resolves, it just doesn't exile the targeted creature.
@hochmaster: Remember that triggered abilities use the stack while static abilities are always in effect.

They changed the wording for Banisher Priest so that there wasn't an easily obtainable "permanent exile" like with Fiend Hunter
Otherwise human reanimator hand Fiend Hunter 5-8 for its combo during its last few months in standard lol

I meant "get -2/-2" not "be -2/-2's", that doesn't make sense.
