Doubling Season + Ghave

Asked by JesusChrist 13 years ago

Does Doubling Season make deck:ghave-guru-of-spores enter the battlefield with 10 +1/+1 counters on it? The question was sparked off of the Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Etched Monstrosity combo where the monstrosity comes into play with no counters on it.

Yes it does. To "place" counters on a permanent includes that permanent entering the battlefield with counters.

would doubling season effect the number of tokens placed due to infect damage?

Nope. It specifically says (oracle text) 'enter the battlefield under your control' or 'permanent you control', and if you (the player) are entering the battlefield as a token or are a permanent, either you're playing with Personal Incarnation or you're playing with Un-cards, in which case you can probably do whatever the heck you want.

It would double the number of -1/-1 counters on your creatures if you were playing against infect, but it doesn't double the infect damage you deal, for the reason sporkife gave above.
