Double Strike on Vampire Growers

If I have Blood Mist target Bloodmad Vampire to give it double strike, does it get two +1/+1 counters if it hits the enemy player unimpeded?

Yes, and assuming it has no counters on it at the start it hits for 9 damage. 4 on the first strike combat damage, the ability triggers and goes on the stack and must resolve before normal combat damage step. Then 5 on the normal combat damage step.
