Does sangromancer trigger when dead?
Asked by Mr_crazydude 11 years ago
1) I have a Sangromancer and my opponent has X creatures on the field (it doesn't really matter how much).
Next turn I wipe the board, with Mutilate for example. Does Sangromancer trigger even though she would be dead as well? Meaning I get X times 3 life.
2) Lets expand the previous question:I have Sangromancer and Mindslicer . My opponent has X creatures on the field and Y cards in hand. I play a board wipe card, lets take Mutilate again. This would mean all creatures go to the graveyard and all players discard their hand because of Mindslicer . Does this also mean Sangromancer triggers, giving me X times 3 life AND Y times 3 life?

Abilities can't trigger when the card is in the graveyard. However, whenever cards change zones at the same time, they all "see" each other going there. So Sangromancer 's first ability will trigger X times.
However, since Mindslicer 's ability is triggered it needs to use the stack to resolve. Sangromancer will long be in the graveyard by the time your opponent discards anything.
