Does Revenge of Ravens trigger for each creature attacking you?

Asked by Ashdust 2 years ago

I'm building an Isshin deck and just want to clarify. If you have Revenge of Ravens or a similar enchantment out, and your opponent attacks you with, let's say three creatures, do they take three and you gain three, or do they only take one and you gain one?

You can link cards by enclosing them in double square brackets:

Revenge of Ravens

It depends entirely on how the ability is worded. Revenge of Ravens and other cards that say "whenever a creature attacks..." trigger for each attacking creature.

Cunning Rhetoric and other cards that say "whenever an opponent attacks..." will only trigger once per combat.

Duelist's Heritage and other cards that say "whenever one or more creatures attack..." will only trigger once per combat.

Gidgetimer is correct and gave a great explanation! I also thought I'd add that a point of confusion for me with on attack triggers for a long time is that while the triggers use the stack like anything else, the attackers themselves are technically all announced at the same time. So if 3 of my dragons attack Utvara Hellkite will make three 6/6 dragon tokens, but those tokens will not be able to attack this turn even if they have haste bc attackers were already declared. Just thought I'd put that in bc I've found it helps explain a lot of how attack triggers work.
