Does Primordial Hydra die if it enters the battlefield through Genesis Wave?

If I use, for example, 5 mana for X in Genesis Wave , and draw a Primordial Hydra , or a Mistcutter Hydra , do they enter the battlefield as if I has spent 8 mana to cast them (5 for X, and 3 green for Genesis Wave), or do they enter as if I had spent only the green mana on those creature cards?I hope the text isn't too confusing :/

Since you put the hydras straight into the battlefield without casting, you didn't pay any mana costs for them, so X=0 and they'd enter the battlefield with no +1/+1 counters. If there is no static ability that gives them more toughness, they'll immediately die from having 0 toughness.
