Does Naban make Drowned Secrets activate twice?

Asked by NPElemental 3 years ago

So if Naban is on the field and so is drowned secrets will another wizard being cast/enter the battlefield cause drowned secrets to activate twice?

Sorry if that's worded poorly I am fairly new to MTG

Drowned Secrets is a cast trigger and Naban, Dean of Iteration is concerned with ETB, or enter the battlefield, triggers. Drowned secrets would only trigger upon the casting of any additional blue spells and does not care about them entering the battlefield so Naban would not cause Drowned Secrets to trigger twice.

No. Drowned Secrets is a cast trigger, not an etb, which means it still mills even if the spell is countered, but does not trigger an additional time with Naban, Dean of Iteration style effects.

You can link to cards by doing something like this:

[[Llanowar Elves]]
