Does Isshin Cause Aurelia's Ability to Trigger Twice?

Asked by DemonDragonJ 2 years ago

if a player attacks simultaneously with Isshin, Two Heavens as One and Aurelia, the Warleader, will Aurelia's ability trigger twice and grant that player two additional combat phases?

I believe it would. Since the trigger is Aurelia, the Warleader attacking (for the first time each turn), Isshin, Two Heavens as One would count it as an ability triggered by a creature attacking and copy it, giving you three combat phases in a row.

Of course, any further attacks after the first by Aurelia that turn won't trigger her ability.

It will make Aurelia trigger twice, but do note that the ability untaps your creatures when it resolves so you'll attack, create a combat phase and untap your creatures, then immediately create a combat phase and untap your creatures again.

Without a different way to untap them (or vigilance, like Aurelia has), your attacking creatures from the second combat phase will be tapped and unable to attack during the third.

I also am taking this route.... Sad that the extra combat phase cards are going up thanks to this commander. Im also taking the route of tapped and attacking with creatures also tapped and attacking.
