Do vehicles have a creature type?

Asked by vic 5 years ago

If I Crew a vehicle like Smuggler's Copter and turn it into a creature, does it have any creature type? Does "vehicle" count as a creature type?

Unless an effect like Frogify gives a vehicle a creature type, it will not have one. "Vehicle" is an artifact subtype, and your vehicle will keep that subtype as long as it is an artifact.

I won't go into great detail, but effects that give/take types away can be tricky. In most cases though, they apply in the order that the effect started. If you have more questions about this, I'll gladly help, and I don't want to intentionally get too off topic.

Hope this helps!!

Vehicle is by nature only an artifact subtype. It does not turn into a creature type if the card is crewed or otherwise animated. If the card loses its artifact type, it will also lose the vehicle subtype because it is not associated with any other type.

Raging_Squiggle, an crewed vehicle is an artifact creature. I doesn't loss it artifact type, so it also doesn't lose its vehicle subtype. That said, vehicle is not a creature type.

Tylord2894: That's true, but it isn't what Raging_Squiggle was saying. "If the card loses its artifact type, it will also lose the vehicle subtype".
