Do shocklands count as basic lands?

Hi,

I want to use Land Tax in a commander deck, and I wanted to know if I could use it to search for lands such as Sacred Foundry or Blood Crypt . One would think they are not basic lands, but the land type in their text say "Mountain" o "Plains", so I don't know if I can use Land Tax to fetch them.

No. There are only ten basic lands (the five normal basics and their snow-covered counterparts). A land is only basic if it has the supertype "Basic." Having basic land types does not automatically make them basic lands. You can't find duals with Land Tax .
