Do cards played through Outpost Siege trigger Jeskai Acendancy?

Asked by Cookieboy1221 9 years ago

I play a noncreature spell through Outpost Siege and i have Jeskai Ascendancy on the battlefield. Does it trigger the Ascendancy?

Yes. Jeskai Ascendancy only cares whether you cast a noncreature spell. It doesn't care how or from where you cast it, so casting it from exile through another ability is perfectly fine.

Yes. "Play" means "play it if it's a land, or cast it if it's a spell". Jeskai Ascendancy doesn't care where you cast the spell from, just that you cast it.

Just one thing to keep in mind with Outpost Siege for any who don't know this is that to play the card exiled by the Khans ability is you have to pay any costs to play them, they aren't a free play. Only stating this for any novices who come across this thread, I've had one of my cousins try this when they got an Outpost Siege and thought its effect wasn't like Act on Impulse's despite both of which having exile top card(s) and play those til the end of your turn style effects.
