Divine Visitation and cards like Martial Coup and Tiamat's Fanatics
Asked by BishopAtavist 2 years ago
When I have Divine Visitation in play, how does it interact with the "if X is 5 or more destroy all other creatures" text of Martial Coup? Would Martial Coup recognize the 4/4 angels created by Divine Visitation as replacements and spare them or would I basically be wasting time casting X for 5 with Divine Visitation in play?
Similarly with a card like Tiamat's Fanatics, would the angels be tapped and attacking when they're created? Would they be exiled at the end of combat?
Thanks for your help!

Divine Visitation's replacement effect only changes the characteristics of the tokens being created, not any other parts of the effect creating the tokens. In your Martial Coup example, the tokens won't be destroyed. In your Tiamat's Fanatics example, they will be tapped and attacking and will be exiled at the end of combat.
