deadeye navigator
Asked by Dirt3pz 12 years ago
ok, i got a few questions about Deadeye Navigator and when its possible to use the exile ability.
- lets say i have a Lone Revenant and a Deadeye Navigator on the table...
i swing with Lone Revenant and exile my Deadeye Navigator ,.. will Lone Revenant then help me draw card? and exactly when do i have to exile the Deadeye Navigator if this is the case?
- i got a Zealous Conscripts and a Deadeye Navigator on the table,..
would i be able to steal what ever creature he throw on the table for 4 mana? ( exile Zealous Conscripts , steal enemy creature, soulbond to enemy creature, exile enemy creature, return enemy creature to the battlefield under MY control]]
You can soulbond the Deadeye Navigator with the Zealous Conscripts again after flickering it to steal the creature, flicker the Deadeye Navigator with his own ability, bind it to the enemy creature, then flicker it.
This would cost a total of 3UUU

guess that combo is too fragile then... i was hoping for 4mana so i had xstra mana open in case i needed to save my card from removal...
thx for the answer anyway,..

Well, couldn't you do it for four mana on the turn that Zealous Conscripts enters the battlefield? Like, you soulbond Zealous Conscripts to Deadeye Navigator , choose their creature to snag, pay 1U to flicker Deadeye Navigator , rebond him to their snagged guy, pay the 1U to flicker their snagged guy, then he's yours. As long as Deadeye Navigator was already on the BF, and then Zealous Conscripts enters, this works for 2UU right? It's just that every other turn it would be 3UUU.

Oh, wait. I guess the downfall would be that the immediate next turn, if you wanted to do it again, it would cost you 4UUUU. Because you have Deadeye Navigator paired with Creature A, you would have to flicker your Deadeye Navigator to repair with Zealous Conscripts , flicker him to trigger his ETB to snag Creature B, flicker Deadeye Navigator to repair with Creature B, then flicker Creature B. That's a total of 4UUUU. Unless, I'm not sure if this would work, but could you, after flickering Zealous Conscripts choose not to pair with Deadeye Navigator and then after Zealous Conscripts 's ETB resolves, could you skip straight to pairing Deadeye Navigator with Creature B, just after snagging him?
Faded says... Accepted answer #1
You can use the exile ability of Deadeye Navigator any time you have priority
1.(a) No, once you attack with Lone Revenant there is no way to use deadeye's ability to exile himself when revenant deals combat damage. A creature ability resolves entirely so in the case of deadeye he would exile and return without being able to interrupt this process. Note if Deadeye returned at the end of combat or end of turn this would work, but he returns immediately.
1.(b) No,
When you steal the creature with Zealous Conscripts (after bouncing with Deadeye) you can't pair that creature with Deadeye Navigator because he did not enter the battlefield, simply changed sides. You could use Cloudshift
