darksteel citadel, shimmer myr, and mirrorworks: does it work?

Asked by asacnineb3 13 years ago

I have a question about a card combo in one of my deck deck:who-needs-blightsteel-colossus. I recently added Darksteel Citadel because it seemed like it would combo well with Shimmer Myr and Mirrorworks , which, supposedly, will allow me to play multiple copies of darkstell-citadel on my opponent's turn, since it is an artifact and a land at the same time. does this even work? Thanks in advance to whoever answers this.

No, you can not Cast a land, only spells, thus you can not Cast Darksteel Citadel on your opponents turn with Shimmer Myr 's effect.

Good idea though.

Darksteel Citadel is played like a land, not cast like a spell so you can't flash it in with Shimmer Myr . It is still an artifact, so you can copy it with Mirrorworks. You can even use it to pay the cost of copying!

lands, just for clarification, are one per turn, may be put onto the battlefield as an action that does not use the stack anytime during your turn that you could cast a sorcery.
