Dark Prophecy and Witch's Cauldron

If a player controls both a Witch's Cauldron and a Dark Prophecy, is at exactly 1 life, and then activates the cauldron, will they lose the game, or will they stay at 1 life?

They will lose (barring any other source of life gain).
Sacrificing a creature is part of the cost of activating the ability of Witch's Cauldron. That ability will go on the stack then anything that triggered during the activation, such as the Dark Prophecy trigger, will go on the stack. The Prophecy trigger will resolve, and that person will lose the game.
