Copying a Bloodline Keeper
Asked by Poptart50100 12 years ago
This question came up while in a cube match. I have a [Bloodline Keeper] in play. I then cast [phyrexian metamorph] on the bloodline keeper. I get to 5 vampires, am I able to transform the copy of bloodline keeper into [Lord of Lineage]?

Unfortunately, no. While it is beneficial in making unflippable Werewolves, the ruling states that a copy of a card has no second side to which to flip, so you would first have to flip your Bloodline Keeper Flip and then copy it in order to have two of them. If you copy the Bloodline Keeper Flip side, the copy cannot flip.

Only permanents that are physically represented by a double-faced card may be transformed. If an effect attempt to transform a non-DFC card, nothing happens.
Copy effects used on DFCs only copy the side that is currently face-up. The copy does not have or acknowledge the other side of the DFC.
