Confused about The First Sliver's cascade ability

Asked by JoyTheEnbySliverLover 4 years ago

I was wondering if I got a sliver out using cascade and slivers have cascade, if I would cascade again? Could someone explain if it does or doesn't. Thanks you.

Yes, you would cascade again. This is because the cascade ability triggers when you cast the spell, and it specifically says that you "cast" the card you cascade into. If that card also has the cascade ability then you get to cascade again when you cast it.

However, if you're asking if you cast The First Sliver and its cascade ability lands you another sliver, then you would not cascade from that sliver because The First Sliver is still on the stack, so it can't give cascade to your other slivers. The First Sliver needs to be on the battlefield for your other sliver spells to receive the cascade ability.

After that, though, it's as Rhadamanthus says: if you have The First Sliver on the battlefield and cast a sliver spell, and that spell cascades into another sliver spell, you would cascade off of that second sliver spell, and so on.
