Commander Damage with Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Phyrexian Unlife
Asked by erabel 12 years ago
If I had both Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Phyrexian Unlife on the field in a game of EDH, my life total was 0, and my opponent's commander hits me, is the damage counted for the "21 commander damage kills you"?
The damage isn't prevented, per se, but it should be dealt as if the creature had infect (in poison counters) and I can't gain poison counters due to Melira, Sylvok Outcast ... so technically the damage isn't dealt. Thanks in advance.

No, technically the damage is dealt. The outcome of damage is just changed. You still take the damage, and you will still lose if the general has dealt 21+ damage to you. It's like how Platinum Emperion doesn't protect you from general damage, either.
