CMC of a reduced spell

Let's say I cast Lightning Greaves for one mana because I have Etherium Sculptor on the field could someone Mental Misstep it?

Directly from Gatherer for Etherium Sculptor -

This effect doesn't change the mana cost or converted mana cost of an artifact spell. Rather, it reduces the total cost of the spell, which is the amount you actually pay while casting it. The total cost takes into account additional or alternative costs.

No

202.3. The converted mana cost of an object is a number equal to the total amount of mana in its mana cost, regardless of color.

Example:

A mana cost of translates to a converted mana cost of 5.

202.3a The converted mana cost of an object with no mana cost is 0.

202.3b When calculating the converted mana cost of an object with an in its mana cost, X is treated as 0 while the object is not on the stack, and X is treated as the number chosen for it while the object is on the stack.

202.3c. When calculating the converted mana cost of an object with a hybrid mana symbol in its mana cost, use the largest component of each hybrid symbol.

202.4. Any additional cost listed in an objects rules text or imposed by an effect isnt part of the mana cost. (See rule 601, Casting Spells.) Such costs are paid at the same time as the spells other costs.

On a side note, all the posts I've made in the past 3 days, including this one, have been via iPhone. It's difficult to get rules quotes on this thing. I should get a medal or something.

the cmc does not change,

if a effect would make the spell cheaper you could cast it for less than its cmc
