can you Eradicate a land?

Asked by SHoeSTRiNg 14 years ago

If you play Eradicate on, let's say a mountain that is enchanted with a Crusher Zendikon , would you exile all mountains from that players library?

I believe that yes, you would remove all Mountains from the game. Since it is a creature named "Mountain", you search your opponents library, hand, and graveyard for all [b]cards/bwith the name "Mountain". That's a pretty good combination for destroying a monocoloured deck.

Yes, yes you would. Quite a devious play. Wind Zendikon almost works better for this, since it'll come down sooner.

Note that the Zendikons don't have to animate your own land. So Wind Zendikon on your opponent's land into casting Eradicate .

Oracle ruling:

2/1/2005: If you manage to turn a land (such as a Forest or Stalking Stones) into a creature, you can indeed use this effect on that basic land type. Eradicate's exile effect only looks for cards by name, not type.

Wow, what a find. Great thinking SHoeSTRiNg. They NEED to reprint this card next set. It works so well with Memoricide , Sadistic Sacrament and Haunting Echoes ... Well, I guess they don't need to, but I would love it =D

It doesn't work well with them, it does the same thing as them, with slight variations. =p

A casual deck filled with all cards like this would be...interesting, though. "Deck? What deck?"

I know what type of vintage deck I'm going to work on building in my spare time...

My casual group will never let me play it after the first week I bring it! So it will be fun once.
