Can you cast Day of Judgment if there is an indestructible creature on the field?

If I have an indestructible is in play can Day of Judgment be played? destroying all other creatures
just to clarify, Day of Judgment doesn't target, so as long as there's no effect (i.e. Silence ) that prevents you from casting it, you can cast it whenever you want.

Yep, you can cast Day of Judgment without a single creature on the battlefield, but that would be a waste.

Yes, that would be fun, Though I have a dream of one day buying all the Vensers up and burning them because of those emblems. I got sent to the loser bracket in my first 5k thanks to that thing. Thought he had JTMSs so I Memoricide d for JTMS and got 1. Then, found out he had 3 Vensers instead... And I lost. After 20 minutes of my better deck stalling, At the end of the game he had exiled 3 of My JTMS, 2 of my Grave Titans, 1 or 2 Frost Titans, majority of the creatures in my deck, and in all it added up to about 20 cards of my deck exiled thanks to venser. Venser will burn someday! jk about burning Venser.
I do agree about that situation making DoJ with no creatures on the field relevant, but the majority of cases an empty field is not the time to use DoJ.

yes it can be played it just wont destroy the indestructible permanent. but a card like Final Judgment will get rid of it.
If a permanent is indestructible, rules and effects can't destroy it. Such permanents are not destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the lethal-damage state-based effect (see rule 420.5c). Rules or effects may cause an indestructible permanent to be sacrificed, put into a graveyard, or removed from the game.
Day of Judgment can always be played even if it has no legal targets.
