Can i end the turn in response to a spell on the stack

Asked by Chino90 8 years ago

I play a Bruna, the Fading Light. It resolves, and i reanimate a Gisela, the Broken Blade. It resolves. In response, my opponent bolts my gisela.

Can i end the turn in response to meld them and avoid the lightning bolt?

No you cannot. In order for a turn to end, the game has to proceed first to the End Step, then the Cleanup Step without any spells or abilities being used. Some cards can force the turn to end, such as Sundial of the Infinite, but you won't get the effect you want from these cards.

These kinds of cards will end the turn and prevent "end of turn" abilities from going off or ending.

The game can only proceed to the End Step once a full round of priority has been passed in the Second Main Phase without any spells or abilities going onto or leaving the stack. After that, abilities that trigger at the start of the end step will trigger and go onto the stack.
