Can Cavern of Souls cast Asmor?
Asked by Delphen7 2 years ago
Say I control Cavern of Souls naming Human, and I want to cast Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar.
Assuming I've discarded this turn, can I tap Cavern for colored mana to cast Asmor?
As a side, what is the mana from Cavern usually called? Is it "uncounterable mana", or is it "mana with the uncounterable property", or something else?
Gidgetimer Thanks for the quick answer!
As a follow up question, can Cavern's mana be spent on an additional cost? If I cast a human spell with kicker (can't think of an example) and put the cavern's mana into the kicker, do all benefits still apply?

If you are wanting to cast Sunscape Battlemage and you have a bunch of white sources and a Cavern, you can tap the Cavern for blue to kick it and draw cards. The Sunscape Battlemage will then be uncounterable. It doesn't matter if it is mana cost, additional cost, or alternative cost (mutate etc.) you can make colored mana with Cavern as long as you are using it as part of a cost to cast a spell of the named creature type and that spell will be uncounterable. Obviously there are no humans with Mutate, but it is the only alternative cost that I can think of.

You are using the mana to cast a human spell, so yes you can use colored mana from a Cavern naming Humans to cast Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar.
I've always just called mana from Cavern "Cavern Mana".
