Can abilities refer to the last known information of a spell?

Saw this addressed on another site and it looked interesting.

Ink-Treader Nephilim has an intervening if clause on its triggered ability. So if somebody casts a Deflecting Swat on a single-target spell that targets only Inky, before Inky's ability resolves, Inky's ability will fail to copy the original single-target spell as it no longer targets only it.

But if a single-target spell is countered while Inky's ability is still on the stack, will Inky's triggered ability refer to the Last Known Information of the spell on the stack to find its only target? I was fairly sure that LKI only applied to permanents, but just realised I don't know for sure.

Last know information applies to any object that's no longer in the zone it's expected to be in. You should still get copies from Ink-Treader Nephilim .
