Brimaz and Exalted?

Asked by dragonchild2994 9 years ago

G/W Hatebear modern, i'm using a Brimaz, King of Oreskos and i have a Noble Hierarch and a Sublime Archangel

does swinging with Brimaz, King of Oreskos get the exalted bonus? and if so does the token add to his power throught the exalted bonus?

He will get the Exalted triggers, but not from his token. This is because Exalted triggers when you declare attackers. The tokens will arrive after you've declared. Exalted also doesn't "check up" on the attacker to see if he's still alone, he'll still get the bonus even if he's not attacking alone anymore.

Exalted checks if the creature was the only one declared as an attacker. If Brimaz, King of Oreskos is the only thing declared as an attacker then all of the exalted triggers will trigger and go on the stack at the same time that his "put a kitty in attacking" ability goes on the stack. The cat will not yet be in play so he will not be able to give an exalted trigger but he also does not prevent exalted triggers.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos will get the exalted triggers but his tokens wont because then there are more than one creatures attacking

The tokens are never declared as attackers so by the very-specific-as-to-what-a-word-means rules of MTG they never "attacked". They are attacking creatures, but they never attacked. So, no it is not because there are now 2 creatures that they don't get exalted triggers, it is because they never had a chance to in the first place.
