Brallin and shabraz
Asked by captain_deano 3 years ago
So let’s say I play the card Windfall with both Brallin, Skyshark Rider Flip and Shabraz, the Skyshark out. I end up discarding 3 and drawing 7. So would I gain 7 life and put 7 counters on shabraz, and then would brallin deal 3 damage and get 3 counters, or do they each only trigger once?
I believe Neotrup is correct, but for some reason I cannot find any specific rules that indicate this. If anyone can point me toward something in the rulebook that indicates this, I would appreciate it.

For a rules reference:
603.2c An ability triggers only once each time its trigger event occurs. However, it can trigger repeatedly if one event contains multiple occurrences.
Example: A permanent has an ability whose trigger condition reads, "Whenever a land is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, . . . ." If someone casts a spell that destroys all lands, the ability will trigger once for each land put into the graveyard during the spell's resolution.
Because the trigger conditions are "whenever you draw a card" and "whenever you discard a card" rather than "whenever you draw one or more cards" and "whenever you discard one or more cards" it fits this rule of an event (discarding your hand/drawing multiple cards) containing multiple triggering events.

Further to @Neotrup's reference, there is also 121.2 which is relevant here.
121.2 Cards may only be drawn one at a time. If a player is instructed to draw multiple cards, that player performs that many individual card draws.

Brallin, Skyshark Rider Flip will trigger 3 times, and Shabraz, the Skyshark will trigger 7 times. You'll wait until Windfall finishes resolving and put those triggers on the stack in any order, so you could do the damage before or after gaining the life, or alternate between them.
