Bloodscent/Lure

Asked by MatthewHwang 12 years ago

When an opponent casts Bloodscent on a weak 1/1 creature, does it basically give every other creature on his side to basically get a free pass to attack? Also, what would happen if he attacks with a 1/1 creature and 6 4/4 creatures, and then casts Bloodscent on his 1/1 creature. I have 8 1/1 creatures that are able to block.

Would I have to block his 1/1 creature with all of my 1/1 creatures, and then get hit by 6 4/4 creatures? Also, would blocking his 1/1 creature with all my 1/1 creatures kill both his 1/1 creature and all of mine?

1) Yeah, if you can't kill the 1/1 that got Bloodscent ed, then you have to block with all your creatures. So if you can't get a creature to block more than one or kill his Bloodscent ed 1/1, you are probably in some bad shape.2) if you block his 1/1 with 8 of your 1/1s, he gets to assign 1 damage amongst all your defenders. he will kill one, and you will maul the crap out of his. Yeah, the 6 4/4 creatures would eat your face.

quick clarification, i meant on point 1 that if you can't kill the attacking Bloodscent ed creature before blockers have to be assigned (Terror , Royal Assassin , etc.). then you have to use ALL your creatures to block his.

With Bloodscent you would have to have all of your 1/1s block his 1/1, leaving you open to being attack by their 6 4/4s. You however do not lose all of your 1/1s for he only has the option for his 1/1 to deal damage to a single target creature.

Yes, you will have to block, with all your creatures, whichever creature Bloodscent is targeting. That's the whole point of the card. However, your opponent's 1/1 can only deal 1 point of damage, meaning he will have to assign it to just one of your blockers. He would have to somehow deal 8 points of damage if he wanted to kill all your blockers.

abdulbaqr is correct, but i thought i would point out that if you have creature that can block multiple creatures, like say Avatar of Hope , then that creature has to block the Bloodscent ed creature, but it can also block other creatures.
