Big Game Hunter vs Simic Charm
Asked by bb14 10 years ago
My opponent cases Zombify targeting Big Game Hunter in my graveyard. I have several big creatures, he has one with power 4+. I cast Simic Charm in response to Zombify choosing the hexproof mode, hoping that he will be forced to target his own creature when the big game hunter enters the battlefield. Does this work?
Thought so. Needless to say, my opponent wasn't happy so thought I'd double check. Thanks Epochalyptik

You described the Big Game Hunter as being in your graveyard. Your opponent casting Zombify may only target creatures in his own graveyard, so he cannot target your Big Game Hunter at all.

Yes.
Big Game Hunter 's ability is not a "may" ability, and it doesn't specify under whose control the target can be. Therefore, your opponent will be forced to target his own creature if it is the only legal target at the time the ability is put onto the stack.
