Alpha brawl, how dos it work?
Asked by miel94 12 years ago
Got a question about Alpha Brawl .
Dos the target creature deals his damage to all other creatures equal to its power , or dos it get divided? If so, who choses how it gets devided?
Second, do all other creatures deal damage to target creature, even if the damage dealt by the first creature is enough to kill them?
Third, what about deathtouch, dos that effect apply? As the creatures deal damage equal to their power, I would go for yes, but the damage gets done by Alpha Brawl , not by the creatures no?

By way of example, let's assume your opponent controls a Serra Angel , a Llanowar Elves , and an Acidic Slime . You target Serra Angel.
1) The damage does not get divided. Serra Angel does 4 damage to Llanowar Elves and 4 damage to Acidic Slime. (Then the Elves and Slime do 1 and 2 damage respectively back to the Angel).
2) Yes. The creatures don't technically die until state is checked upon resolution of the spell.
3) Yes. In my example, the Angel will have sustained 3 damage, but because at least one point came from a source with deathtouch, that damage is considered fatal and the Angel will die. The damage is done by the creature (the text reads "each of these creatures does damage" not "Alpha Brawl does damage").
Hope this helps!

It deals damage to all of the other creatures equal to it's power. For example, if you have a 5/5 creature that is chosen, and 3 2/2 creatures, then each of those 2/2s takes 5 damage. Then, the 5/5 would take 6 damage (from the 3 2/2s). This is all done simultaneously, so nothing dies until all of the damage is dealt.
I apologize, but I believe I answered this under the first question. So, in short, yes; yes they do.
Your original assumption is correct, sir. If a creature with death touch deals damage to another creature (assuming the other creature is not indestructible) the creature will die. Also, the wording on Alpha Brawl states: "Target creature an opponent controls deals damage..." So, the creature is dealing the damage, not Alpha Brawl
Does this help? :D
