Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward + Preston, the Vanisher
Asked by DianTherra 2 years ago
So we have Preston out. Let's say Adrian enters the battlefield. We get a token copy of Adrian that's a 0/1 Illusion. As it enters, we're going to have to sacrifice one of the Adrians. The two Abdel's ETB triggers are still on the stack, right?
Let's say we sacrificed the token copy. When the token copy's ETB trigger resolves, will we be able to make permanents leave the battlefield? If so, do they return immediately or never?
I've looked around for a ruling on this. Some claim the triggers from the absent Adrians do nothing, but I've yet to see a reference to the rules of the game.

You can link cards by enclosing them in double brackets [ ].
This just makes it easier for everyone to know what's happening :)
Since they are exiled until the permanent returns, they will not be exiled by the trigger of the permanent you put into the graveyard as a result of the legend rule.
This is usually found on the rulings of the cards themselves, but Abdel apparently doesn't have it, so here are some similar cards.

Hixus, Prison Warden
