Enchanting a god

A question for people:

If I wanted to put an enchantment on a god card:

e.g. Heliod, God of the Sun and Ethereal Armor

Firstly I can only target Heliod if he is creature right??? (referring to the if devotion is less than five clause on the card)

Secondly if I can enchant him, when he's a creature; but later on the board state changes and he then becomes a non-creature again - does he then lose the enchant attached to him??

Just asking for a bit of input, as I really not sure what happens...thanks for your input in advance.

If an enchanted creature is no longer a creature, your ethereal armor will fall off when your devotion to white falls to 4 or below.

Enchantments must remain attached to a valid target, in this case, the target has to remain a creature. Another thing that would cause you to lose the enchantment would be to use Gods Willing naming White on the enchanted creature, which will also cause the enchantment to fall off.

Rules questions belong in the Q&A.

@Wainwright: You are correct on both accounts.

@Beetall: Note that auras only target as spells. Once the aura is put onto the battlefield (including being put onto the battlefield by effects rather than by casting it), it no longer targets the object it enchants. The technical phrasing is just that the aura may only enchant a legally enchantable object as defined by the aura's "enchant ___" keyword.

Thanks guys

Always useful to check that your understanding is similar to others.

Apologies for posting in the incorrect forum. I didn't see Q&A and as it was about standard cards i thought i might have got it right. Will remember for next time.
