-Cost symbols 
-Rarity can now be set for printings per set
-Format validator code has changed but it should still work the same

I am WAY too pumped for this. Like this is what my life has become. Rejoicing when the MTG website introduces mana symbols in text. I have nothing better to be happy about. I think I need friends.

I was thinking the other day how tired of having to say "it costs 1R"
Now I can do this: 
. Is there any way to make them link together like in the combo system? Instead of using [ [1] ][ [R] ] like [ [1 R] ]? Not trying to pick anything apart, just a convenience thing.

I'm actually really excited about the Captcha. Less spamming makes for a better environment!
But like...also...
It does appear there are a number of usernames/decknames that interfere with these new symbols. All of the combos of WG, UG and WU were taken.

Primordial Hydra enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it.
At the beginning of your upkeep, double the number of +1/+1 counters on Primordial Hydra
Primordial Hydra has trample as long as it has ten or more +1/+1 counters on it.

YAY, my idea has been implemented~!
Now, I am here to present a little glitch with the rarity thing.
It appears that whatever code you used for this new rarity thing put the rarity in twice. Because it is also where it normally is as well.
And also, what do you mean with the rarity thing anyways? Do you mean that you can set a specific rarity for every single set, and it is automatically applied to all? If so I don't like that too much, because people will confuse that rarity option and accidentally set a rarity change for every printing of that card.
Or, I could be totally off, please enlighten me.

it should just be in the admin form, not in the user form. its too rare and you're right, its too confusing. why do you even use that form, you have admin privs on cards.

I use that form because it is so much faster than the admin one. I can also determine if anything goes wrong because I can check the admin submission page to see if anything got Lost in the Mist . But you know, that's just me, I spent like, 3 sets on that form after all so I've grown accustomed to it.

Though I must say, I'm finally happy that the buggy information relay between the card database and the set lists, deck lists, illegal cards lists and updates lists have finally been fixed. I can now actively fix these cards more!

well i removed that field from the user form, so its admin only. there shouldn't be too many cards who's rarity changed per set.

One last thing I noticed, the newly added "show illegal cards in board" function just refreshes the page and sets you to the top of the page(and puts an hashtag symbol at the end of the url) instead of actually doing anything.

Assuming that we have all the colored and colorless hybrids and colorless mana from 0 to 20 (Spawnsire of Ulamog ) These are the other things I could think of: Snow symbol could be S, untap symbol could be Q (like on gatherer), and Y and Z could be the Y and Z symbols. I've also thought of WP for white phyrexian mana symbol for example, since phyrexian mana is pretty cool too. Other than that... uh... Half mana symbols? Maybe the infinity symbol? uh... I can't think of anything else.

Suggestions for MTG Card Text Symbols in Forums.
The only thing we could probably do is loyalty symbols. And we only have hybrid colourless/mana for 2. WotC never made a card with anything higher so there are no symbols for it. Loyalty symbols would probably done with 3 square brackets enclosed around a number, with or without a +/- sign in front of the number. Because otherwise they would get mixed with the colourless mana for the loyalty symbols without the +/- sign in front of the number.

I have found another little issue with the symbols appearing massively larger than they should. Basically, whenever you preview the new thread you are about to create, the mana symbols get massively huge.
