Kor Firewalker question

I was playing a casual game with my friend who plays Kor Firewalker against my red burn deck. I was about to los when I realized that my Skullcrack in my hand states that damage cannot be prevented this turn "Protection" states that it cannot be dealt damage by the color. Would Skullcrack eliminate protection? Has anyone realized this with Flames of the Blood Hand ?

This is more of a rules question and should be asked in the Q&A.

Skullcrack would stop the damage prevention aspect of protection, although it would not get rid of the other characteristics (no blocking, no targeting, no enchanting/equipping).

Flames of the Blood Hand only makes its own damage unpreventable, not all damage.

Yes, but you still can't target it, so you need a sweeper or have the opponent block with him.

Flames of the Blood Hand the damage is the damage from the card. 'The damage...' instead of 'Damage...'. so that won't work.

but Unstable Footing would work.

Yeah Protection also says can't be targeted. So you still couldn't burn their creature with any spells that targets.
