My friends and I were messing around playing commander/EDH the other night. What came out of the game was a new format! We had a lot of fun playing it, and I honestly think it could be a good addition to the Magic community. Partially inspired by The Mandalorian, and partly inspired by trying to bribe my friends, I present to you all for your enjoyment, Bounty Hunter

Enjoy!

Please let me know what you think of the format. The rules are still being tweaked. If you see any glaring loop holes, let me know. Otherwise I’m hoping that the fewer rules, the better. I want this to be something that can be easily integrated into any other MTG format or game mode.

The link says the bounty marker is returned to the player who set the bounty.

"If a card or permanent with a bounty changes zones in a way that does not fulfill the contract, then the contract is nullified and returned to its controller."

"Destroy or Exile" should probably read "Destroy, Remove due to 0 Toughness, or Exile" - under your current rules, a -X/-X spell could only claim a bounty if something like Rest in Peace was fielded.

I would suggest changing "Counter" to "Counter or Fizzle"--that way people can either flicker the target or confer hexproof/shroud/protection to the target, providing another method of satisfying the contract.

I would also combine "Return to Hand" and "Place into Library" into a singular category. While there are plenty of bounce cards, there is not a sufficient number of cards that place permanent/spells back in the library to justify this being an independent category. You'll need to use "Place" instead of "Shuffle" to cover cards like AEthertow .

The rules have been updated. When a player makes a contract they need to be careful how they word it. If they say exile, a flicker effect fulfills the contact. It would be better in many instances to leave the contract unspecified, where the threat must be fully resolved to complete the contract. Specific contracts can be used offensively or defensively. I.e. to help you or to prevent something from hurting you
