TCG Player Questions

Hi, I know TCG player is safe, but what I am asking is has anyone bought something or a deck say over 400+$ on that website? If so, did the cards come in the condition you requested and where you pleased with their service, as I know that website is a compilation of a bunch of different stores. I was just wondering because you can get a good deal on that website, or so it seems. Thank you.

With the TCG Direct service, buying a deck is a fairly safe and quick bet. I bought most of my BW Tokens deck a few months back from TCG Sellers, and had a great experience with it. Most if not all of the cards were NM, regardless of what they were listed as, and everything came super quickly. As said above, just make sure that the bulk of your expensive items come from shops with over 10k sales.

On average I've had a very successful time buying from TCG. TCG Direct makes it even better but more expensive as very few of the tcg driect allowed sellers are selling at the lowest price for any given card.
Though I've had problems with sellers in the past. These were mostly related to new sellers not understanding tcg's payment system. A message to the seller and learning that they didn't get payment (the big clue they don't understand it), so they didn't send my cards, led to an email from me to tcg, which tcg then was able to explain the system to the dealer better and the dealer sending the requested card.
There have been a couple times where I have received the wrong order. Contacted the seller and the seller letting me keep the cards they sent (once was an unhinged foil forest) while they sent me my actual order.
One other time, a seller listed the card in the wrong set (Overgrown Tomb in this case), they listed it as Old Ravinca (dissension or guildpact I forget). and when they went to fill the order, they realized the mistake and contacted me telling me it was actually RTR not the original ones. They gave me the choice of full refund or send the rtr ones and refund the difference. I took the full refund (already had enough rtr tombs), they also sent me 3 packs of conspiracy free of charge for the inconvenience.
Recently I bought 50 cards from tcg for a commander deck, with no issues (mix of direct and non direct sellers), in one purchase.
I have paid over 5k to tcg in purchases, though I have never bought a card worth more than 60$ on any site (I tend to buy those in person). With TCG Direct, I'm tempted to buy some now. If there was no tcg direct, I would probably consider it next year, given the amount of time and experience I have with them.
All cards came in expected or better condition than I ordered. I did buy some lp Thoughtseize from lowryn (before the reprint) and when I got them, I thought a couple where nm, but the seller judged them harshly due to minor scratches on the border (from play, and they were/are still black, just barely noticeable), since they weren't really 'pack fresh'.
But please do note the rating for the seller and number of sales. I didn't pay attention to that, just the price when I bought the cards that came with problems, but each time it was satisfactorily resolved.

Ok, thank you all for your feedback. It was a great help.

I've never had any issue with TCG. There was one time where a order came late, but the company in question recognized that and made up for it by sending all the affected buyers a pack of Japanese Born of the Gods. Got a Japanese Spirit of the Labyrinth out of it. Felt good.

I recently bought a complete modern Mill Deck from TCG Player without issue or incident (total value $400+). I was able to get most of from TCG Player direct, and it came in fast and in better shape than most items were listed as. I had a few stragglers that took a week to get to me, but overall, no issues (it's not like I needed the deck for a competition or something).
I just finished putting in an order for about 50 cards for a EDH brew I have been tinkering around with in my head. Truthfully, I enjoy using TCGplayer as the prices are good, and if you familiarize yourself with the interface, you avoid most issues (not getting cards from a set or block you didn't want, for example old AEther Vial artwork vs MM AEther Vial artwork). Trading is ok, but unfortunately it takes a lot more time to build anything, and most people don't seem to want to trade the stuff I need.
I use to actively trade on YouTube with my binder, however I found that most people struggled to get to the post office, so many trades would take 2 weeks or so to complete. It all depends on your wants and needs. If you are in a rush, and need the deck ASAP, I say use TCGplayer Direct and get it in 3 to 5 days. If you want the deck soon, no rush, TCGplayer regular works fine. Just pay attention and read the descriptions and notes about sellers, that way there is no surprise. Always be safe trading and buying. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

I only ever buy from TCG. I trade via Facebook but you can rarely find better prices than TCG. Some of the cards I've bought that were supposed to be HP or MP were in much better condition than I expected. Make sure you buy from stores that generally have a lot of sales. Just check their customer reviews. Good luck!
